About the College

The Faculty of Economics was established pursuant to General People's Committee Decision No. (745) of 1991, concerning the reorganization of university structures, issued on 18-09-1991. Its main campus is located in the city of Derna. In 2015, due to the security conditions that affected Derna—resulting in difficulties communicating with its branches in Tobruk, Qubah, and Al-Bayda—the President of Omar Al-Mukhtar University issued Decision No. (132) to temporarily relocate the main administration from Derna to Al-Bayda until the situation improved. Following the declaration of Derna’s liberation in 2018, the faculty administration returned to its main headquarters in Derna.
